The Founder

Daianne Barros

Portal to Brazil was founded by Daianne Barros, a Brazilian-American entrepreneur with deep roots in Rio de Janeiro and an international perspective.

Born in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro and raised in Florida, Daianne grew up with a connection to both Brazilian and American cultures. Her experience living between two countries gave her a unique understanding of what international travelers need when visiting Brazil — particularly those who may not speak Portuguese or have local connections.

Daianne earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and went on to build and lead a successful construction company in Florida. Her background in business, operations, customer service, and entrepreneurship shaped the foundation for what would eventually become Portal to Brazil.

But her connection to Rio never disappeared.

Driven by a deep passion for her native city, Daianne returned to Rio with a vision: to create the kind of resource she wished every foreign visitor had before arriving in Brazil.

Portal to Brazil combines her international experience with local knowledge to help travelers understand Rio beyond the typical tourist recommendations.
